N.Y.C. AVP Tournament Orthopaedic Physician

The New York City AVP tour stop finished on Sunday with exciting finals matches and beautiful New York summer weather. If you were able to come down to pier 25 to catch the action in person or watched the finals on NBC you would have seen Dr. Ron Noy, the head New York City orthopaedic surgeon at Prestige Sports Medicine. Dr. Noy has been supporting the AVP tournament and providing his medical expertise to the New York City leg for decades. As a new york city local physician he was one of the medical staff placed directly on the sidelines of the main court. Acting with the AVP he is able to provide immediate attention to players issues on the court. Additionally he is available in the private tents for more extensive help if any of the players require it. Thankfully this year saw very minimal medical attention and closed out successfully.

Dr. Noy can be seen posing in the next photo with two young up and coming female players. This photo is with Sara Hughes (blonde player on the right), Kelly Claes (red headed player in the middle), and Dr. Bob Haley. Sarah Hughes and Kelly Claes are two up and coming stars who took eventual champions Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross (#1 in the world, Olympics bound) to the brink in the semifinals. If you were able to come and enjoy the match live it was an extremely high energy and tense match. These two young woman are definitely 2 to watch in the future.

Dr. Ron Noy and the AVP NYC Tournament

New York City Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr. Ron Noy has been happy to serve as a local doctor for the AVP tournament for over 15 years. As a highly active family man and former athlete Dr. Noy knows the dedication it takes to compete on the highest level. He is excited to be able to still provide back to such incredible athletes. Off the court he has treated several high level volleyball players with shoulder injuries from labrum tears to rotator cuff surgery. Dr. Noy is seen as the leading new york city sports medicine and orthopaedic surgeon where he likes to tell his patients, “We are getting you back into the game faster.” His advanced methods and surgical abilities allow his patients to recover with minimal pain and shorter down time.

Dr. Noy is already looking forward to next years tournament and seeing the players out there again. Please enjoy a slideshow of photos taken throughout the weekend.
